Dayton School Department is seeking a dedicated professional to provide academic and social emotional support to students.

• Provide direct academic and social emotional support to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
• Reinforce instructional concepts and learning objectives in literacy, mathematics, and other content areas.
• Assist students in completing assignments, organizing materials, and developing effective study and learning strategies.
• Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Collaborate and communicate with staff on monitoring and documenting student progress, academic performance, and behavioral growth.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence, resilience, and self‑advocacy skills.
• Provide social and emotional support by helping students develop self‑regulation, problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and interpersonal skills.
• Assist students in managing emotions, navigating peer relationships, and responding appropriately to social situations.
• Support positive behavior interventions and reinforce classroom expectations and school‑wide behavioral goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, special educators, administrators, and families to support students' academic and social/emotional development.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school‑related functions as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings to enhance student support practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the educational, behavioral, and emotional needs of students.
• Other job‑related duties as assigned by the Building Leader or designee.

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), including fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.

• Appropriate for Ed Technician certification level.

• Experience working with students.
