The Education and Events Coordinator manages and oversees the development of the Library’s educational initiatives and community engagement strategy. This position is responsible for independently designing curricula, executing high-quality programming, and cultivating strategic partnerships to advance the mission of the Margaret Chase Smith Library.
This position is located at the Margaret Chase Smith Library in Skowhegan, Maine. Typical hiring salary is up to $45,301.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, library science, or related fields or equivalent experience in education and community development.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in education and community development.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and remain organized with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Drive, and Digital Asset Management or similar database software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a museum or library setting.
  • Knowledge of cataloging.
  • Experience working with a small, collaborative team.
  • Experience with graphic design and/or marketing and communication outreach.
  • Ability to travel.
