RSU #73 is looking for a caring, compassionate, and patient educational technician II to join the special education program full‑time working with students with disabilities in grades 3‑5. Students in our programs have a wide variety of academic and functional needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth. Successful candidates work with individuals or small groups providing curriculum support, perform short‑term instruction with professional supervision including introduction of new learning pre‑planned with consultation with the supervising teacher, and maintain records of student progress with behavior and academics.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, organized, and skilled at clear communication. Some students require personal care needs.

• Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC). A Department of Education experience working with students with social and emotional challenges is preferred.
• Experience working with children or adults with disabilities is preferred, but not necessary.
