Position: 50% Gifted & Talented Teacher
Location: Hallowell

Gifted & Talented Teacher (50% position)

We are seeking a dynamic gift and talented teacher to join our team! The successful candidate will work with K-8 classroom teachers to meet the needs of and provide high‑quality instruction to all learners, including gifted & talented/high performing students. Through consultation, co‑teaching and direct service models, our GT Teacher will collaborate to identify the needs of students, design and deliver high‑quality, differentiated instruction, and monitor student achievement through an iterative, data‑informed process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable about extended learning opportunities and the whole child approach
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with students and staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to extended learning strategies and relevant content‑based practices
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials necessary to provide individualized and small group instruction
  • Develop knowledge of the MTSS framework and work in collaboration with staff to provide tiered support to students
  • Support classroom teachers with universal instruction as indicated
  • Perform all other duties as assigned in the spirit of collaboration
Qualifications
  • Hold (or eligible to hold) Maine 690 certification
  • Hold current Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification
  • Minimum of three years’ classroom teaching experience
  • Experience teaching gifted and high‑performing students preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • A passion for working with K-8 learners and supporting their growth
