Music Teacher – MDIHS – Mount Desert Island High School – Bar Harbor, ME
Position Start: Beginning August 2025
OverviewMDIHS is looking for a music teacher to oversee and direct its renowned instrumental music program. Curricular duties may include directing the symphonic/pep band and orchestra, teaching A.P. Music Theory, offering pullout lessons and sectionals throughout the school day, working with extracurricular jazz ensembles and the Tri-M Honor Society, and designing and teaching additional courses.
Responsibilities- Direct the symphonic/pep band and orchestra.
- Teach A.P. Music Theory.
- Offer pullout lessons and sectionals throughout the school day.
- Work with extracurricular jazz ensembles and the Tri-M Honor Society.
- Design and teach additional courses.
- Collaborate regularly with a team of music teachers at MDIHS and throughout the district.
- Required certification: 614, PK-12 Music.
- Engaging, energetic, an active musician, a lifelong learner, and student‑centered.
