About the Position:

Our Special Purpose Preschool in Arundel, Maine is seeking dedicated and compassionate Educational Technicians / School-Based Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) to support young children ages 3–5 with developmental and behavioral needs. This role provides hands-on classroom and one-on-one support using evidence-based behavioral and educational strategies.

Educational Technicians work under the supervision of certified Special Education Teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and play a critical role in preparing children for kindergarten and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students individually or in small groups within a center-based preschool program

  • Implement educational and behavioral plans developed by the teaching and clinical team

  • Reinforce skills and learning introduced by classroom teachers

  • Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and daily routines

  • Model positive communication, behavior, and social skills

  • Collect observational data and contribute to student progress documentation

  • Maintain confidentiality of all student and staff information

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of educators and clinicians


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 90 college credits required

  • (90 credits required to qualify for Ed Tech III certification)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Educational Technician authorization through the Maine Department of Education

  • Willingness to complete BHP and/or RBT training (provided by employer)

  • Successful completion of criminal background check, fingerprinting, and reference checks


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social services, or a related field

  • Experience working with young children or individuals with developmental disabilities

  • Prior Educational Technician, BHP, or ABA experience
