Job DescriptionMaine School Administrative District #60 is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Principal for Noble Middle & High School. The district seeks a candidate who has a commitment to leading a talented, student‑centered, and mission‑driven staff while prioritizing academic excellence. Ideal candidates will possess deep knowledge of teaching and learning, have experience cultivating a positive school culture, and be skilled in managing school systems, facilities, budgeting, and fiscal processes.
Responsibilitiesand Qualifications
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, staff, and community members.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Exhibit an extensive understanding of school leadership, supervision, and evaluation.
- Possess in‑depth knowledge of curriculum, curriculum development processes, teaching, and assessment.
- Demonstrate appreciation for and sensitivity to diversity among individuals.
- Advance student achievement and growth.
- Apply standards‑based and proficiency‑based education practices.
- Inspire and motivate staff and students to perform at their highest potential.
- Build and maintain strong parent‑school‑community relationships.
- Manage activities that contribute to the effectiveness of the secondary educational experience.
- Support Noble High School’s commitment to personalized learning through its school‑within‑a‑school design, proficiency‑based teaching and learning system, academic and social supports, and multiple learning pathways.
- Maine State Certification.
- Minimum of five years as a teacher and five years of administrative experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Noble Middle & High School is a 7‑12 school serving the communities of Berwick, North Berwick, and Lebanon, with approximately 1,250 students. The school features student‑centered learning, multiple pathways to success, one‑to‑one technology, a proficiency‑based system of teaching and learning, performance‑based assessments, student‑led conferences, and a final student capstone presentation. Candidates should be student‑centered, flexible, energetic, team‑oriented, and able to effectively use technology.
