School Educational Technician III

Job Purpose:

To assist teaching staff in the delivery of appropriate instruction and services to support the educational development of students.

Essential Functions:

• Works with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional and assessment support with and without direct teacher supervision.
• May develop specific instructional plans within the framework of a teacher defined sequence of instruction.
• May introduce new learning preplanned in collaboration with the classroom teacher and/or academic support team.
• Applies classroom rules and expectations consistently.
• Assists in the supervision of students during classroom activities, emergency/fire drills, assemblies, and field trips.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with classroom teacher(s)
• Participates in professional development and workshops.
• Performs lunch, recess, and/or arrival and dismissal duties.
• Performs such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the building principal.
