We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Welding and Fabrications Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction in welding techniques and fabrication processes to students enrolled in our vocational programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver curriculum for welding and fabrication courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and educational objectives.
- Instruct students on various welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW, as well as oxy-fuel cutting and plasma cutting techniques.
- Demonstrate proper welding and fabrication procedures, emphasizing safety protocols and best practices.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance to students in the use of welding equipment, tools, and materials.
- Evaluate student progress through practical assessments, written examinations, and project-based assignments.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement, collaboration, and skill development.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to integrate welding and fabrication concepts into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Stay current with advancements in welding technology, materials, and industry trends to enhance instructional content and methods.
- Offer mentorship and support to students interested in pursuing careers in welding and related fields, including guidance on certification and job placement opportunities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Welding Technology or related field preferred. Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) required. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) credentials are highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in welding and fabrications, with demonstrated expertise in various welding processes and techniques. Previous teaching or instructional experience in a vocational or educational setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Commitment to promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning. Proficiency in Google Suite for Education and instructional technology tools.
