4th Grade Teacher

Mast Landing School, a grades 3-5 elementary school in Freeport, Maine, seeks a passionate and collaborative 4th grade teacher to join our collaborative learning community. We are committed to creating joyful, inclusive classrooms where all students are known, valued, challenged, and supported to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate brings strong instructional practices, enthusiasm, and a growth mindset to their work.

They will build positive relationships with students and families, foster an engaging classroom community, and collaborate closely with colleagues to support student growth. The successful candidate will utilize evidence-based instructional practices to support student growth in literacy and mathematics, including the implementation of Units of Study in Reading and Writing and Everyday Mathematics. Experience with workshop-based instruction is preferred. Mast Landing School values classrooms grounded in Responsive Classroom practices, where strong relationships, student engagement, and social-emotional learning are integrated into the daily experience of students.

Teachers work collaboratively in grade-level teams to analyze student learning, design responsive instruction, and ensure high levels of support and achievement for all learners. We seek an educator who values teamwork, reflective practice, and continuous improvement in service of students.

Requirements:
Must hold valid (020)- K-6 General Certification from the ME Dept. of Education. Position remains open until suitable candidate is found.
