Location: Starks

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Multiple Vacancies (Temp-to-Perm)

Witham, Essex. Full‑time, temp‑to‑perm positions with immediate and September starts available.

The Role

You will support students who may present with social, emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage with learning, regulate emotions and achieve positive outcomes.

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small‑group basis.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with students.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Encouraging participation, confidence and independence.
  • Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Who We're Looking For

The school is keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people.
  • Have worked in SEN, SEMH, PRU, Alternative Provision, Youth Work, Care, Residential or Sports Coaching environments.
  • Can remain calm, consistent and professional in challenging situations.
  • Have strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Are passionate about helping young people reach their potential.
  • Previous school‑based experience is desirable but not essential.
