Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,500 (Commensurate with experience; negotiated by the Blue Hill School Committee)

Position Overview
The Principal serves as the educational leader and chief administrator of BHCS, responsible for implementing and managing the policies, regulations, and procedures of the Blue Hill School Committee. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, staff, parents, and the broader community to maintain a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Educational Leadership:
Provide instructional leadership to sustain and enhance a rigorous, student-centered curriculum. - Culture & Climate:
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe school climate that fosters student well-being and professional growth for staff. - Personnel Management:
Recruit, supervise, and evaluate certified and support staff, encouraging continuous professional development. - Community Engagement:
Foster strong, transparent communication and collaboration with parents, the Blue Hill School Committee, and the local community. - Operations & Budgeting:
Oversee the daily operations of the school building, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource allocation in alignment with the district budget.
- Certification:
Valid Maine State Certification as a Building Administrator (040) or immediate eligibility for certification. - Education:
Master’s degree or higher in Educational Leadership or a related field preferred. - Experience:
Proven experience in school administration or demonstrated leadership capacity; PK-8 experience is highly desirable. - Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills; a collaborative leadership style; and deep knowledge of current educational best practices and Maine school law.
