Nobleboro Central School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Title I Literacy Specialist to support student achievement in grades K–8. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about making a direct impact on student learning, providing interventions in literacy and collaborating closely with classroom teachers, families, and support staff.
The successful candidate will provide Tier II and III instruction in both push-in and pull-out settings, using data-driven strategies to help students reach their full academic potential. You will also support teacher growth, help implement school-wide literacy initiatives, and participate in our MTSS team to strengthen instruction across the school.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver 1:1 or small-group interventions in literacy for students K–8
- Coordinate benchmark systems and data collection
- Conduct weekly progress monitoring for Tier III students
- Identify and implement research-based literacy interventions
- Serve as an active member of the MTSS team
- Provide teachers with professional development, in-class consultation, feedback, and modeling for literacy instruction
- Collaborate with teachers to analyze assessment data, student work, and instructional practices to improve curriculum alignment
- Engage in planning and collaboration with grade-level teams
- Communicate student progress and strategies with families
- Assist with grading, report cards, and written comments
- Attend weekly grade-level meetings
- A valid Maine K–8 Elementary Certification (020) and/or Literacy Specialist Certification (092) preferred
- Maine Criminal History Records Check required
- Experience with diagnostic assessments (formal and informal)
- Knowledge of data-informed instructional decision-making, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring
- Strong understanding of early literacy and intervention strategies
- Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to a culture of teamwork and professional growth
