Position: Social Skills Teacher - Grades 3-6 (2026-27) - Paris
Location: Paris

Position Overview

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Grades 3-6 Social Skills Teacher at Paris Elementary School. This position focuses on functional skill development. Paris Elementary School is located in South Paris and serves approximately 400 students in grades PreK-6.

Location and Reporting

Paris Elementary School, South Paris. Reports to Building Principal/Director of Student Services.

Schedule and Compensation

Work Schedule:

180 days contract.

Salary: $45,000.00 - $79,539.70 (SY25/26).

  • Base salary for Social Skills Teachers plus an annual supplemental stipend of $3,400.
  • Other supplemental stipends for similar positions:
    Day Treatment Teachers - $4,500;
    Functional Life Skills Teachers - $4,400;
    Resource Room Teachers - $2,000;
    Social Workers - $4,450;
    Applied Academics Teachers - $4,000.
Qualifications

Candidates must be certified (282) Special Education in Maine.

  • Help students develop skills to apply, interpret, analyze, and evaluate the vast, ever-expanding amount of information;
  • Employ effective lesson design by adjusting to students’ personal learning needs and preferences, including appropriate technology applications.
