Position: Ed Tech III / Tutor
Location: Freeport

Title: Education Technician III/ Tutor

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Aucocisco School in Freeport, ME, is seeking dynamic, creative Education Technicians/Tutors to join our special education team. Ed Tech III or teacher certification is required. Aucocisco is an extraordinary learning environment built for complex learners. We are a neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed school that values each student’s individuality while helping students build the academic, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills they need for success.

Tutors receive training in evidence-based curricula and instructional strategies designed to support students with learning disabilities. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative, supportive school community where educators are encouraged to bring their passions, creativity, and strengths to their work with students.

Responsibilities Include
  • Working with students of various ages on a one-to-one or small group basis
  • Providing engaging and dynamic instruction based on each student’s learning needs
  • Following program steps as directed by the education director and special education teacher
  • Acting in a professional and positive manner with students, parents, and faculty

  • Current openings include part-time, full-time, and after-school combination schedules
  • Paid training is provided
  • Positions are paid hourly

Education
  • At least 90 college credits, Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with students with complex learning profiles that include learning disabilities, ASD and ADHD
License/Certification
  • Maine Department of Education Ed Tech III certification required
  • Maine Department of Education CHRC background
