Nobleboro School - Guidance Counselor

Nobleboro Central School is seeking a compassionate, student-focused guidance counselor to join our supportive and collaborative team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while working closely with teachers, families, and the broader school community.

The successful candidate will provide individual and group counseling, academic guidance, and social-emotional support to students. You will help students navigate challenges, develop strong coping and decision-making skills, and achieve personal and academic goals. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives and be an integral part of a positive school culture.

• Assist with academic planning, course selection, and career readiness
• Provide individual and group counseling to support student social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to address student needs
• Support positive behavior interventions and school-wide social-emotional programs
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

• Valid Maine School Counselor Certification or LCSW
• Experience working with students in elementary, middle, or high school settings
• Understanding of social-emotional learning, adolescent development, and counseling best practices
• Teach SEL classes
