There are two full-time, onsite openings available—one for a K-1 self-contained classroom and another for grades 2-4 in a Functional Life Skills (FLS) setting. These contract roles offer a steady 37.5-hour work week, where you’ll make a meaningful impact in students’ academic lives.
Candidates must hold an active Maine 282 Special Education license and bring a passion for working with elementary-aged students who benefit from extra support. The hourly rate ranges from $40 to $47, determined by your educational background and years of experience.
Qualifications- Active Maine 282 Special Education teaching license (required)
- Experience working with self-contained or functional life skills classrooms, preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management abilities
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet a variety of learning needs
- Collaborative spirit to partner with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Plan and implement individualized, engaging curriculum tailored to student needs
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Monitor progress and maintain thorough, compliant documentation
- Work closely with general educators and specialists to coordinate services and interventions
- Communicate proactively with families and IEP teams
