Anticipated Full-Time Elementary Physical Education Teacher

Richmond School Department is seeking to hire a full time Physical Education teacher for Marcia Buker Elementary School to serve kindergarten through fifth grade students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles, and positive student relationships. The successful candidate will design and implement a developmentally appropriate PE curriculum that aligns with state standards and fosters lifelong wellness as well as teach our elementary health curriculum.

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging physical education lessons for grades K-5
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among all students
• Plan and teach the health and wellness curriculum
• Adapt physical activities to accommodate diverse learners and abilities
• Participate in school functions and professional development activities
• Maintain an inventory of PE equipment

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (required)
• Valid Teaching Certification in Physical Education (K–12)
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills

SALARY:
In accordance with the  wage scale of the teacher collective bargaining agreement.
