Job DescriptionMaine School Administrative District #60 is seeking an experienced and dynamic instructional leader to serve as the Interim Principal of Knowlton School for the 2026–2027 school year.
Knowlton School serves approximately 188 fourth‑grade students from Berwick, North Berwick, and Lebanon. The successful candidate will continue strengthening a school culture that unites students and families from all three communities while ensuring every child feels welcomed, connected, and supported.
Our educators are committed to providing an academically rigorous, developmentally responsive, and inclusive learning environment. MSAD #60 challenges all students through high expectations while fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth through strong relationships and student‑centered instruction.
Responsibilities- Have successful administrative experience in a school leadership role.
- Build a strong, welcoming culture that unites students, staff, and families from all three communities.
- Lead with integrity, professionalism, visibility, and consistency.
- Demonstrate strong instructional leadership grounded in research‑based practices and meaningful assessment.
- Continue the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Foster collaboration among staff while supporting continuous improvement and innovation.
- Lead with empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to the success of every student.
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership.
- Maine certification (or eligibility) as a School Principal.
- Successful experience in a school administrative leadership position, preferably at the elementary level.
- Demonstrated commitment to the academic, social, and emotional success of all students.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and lead school improvement efforts with clarity and purpose.
- At least five years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
