About Camden Hills Regional High SchoolCamden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves 710 students in grades 9 – 12 from primarily six surrounding towns.

We are accepting applications for a full-time Special Education Educational Technician position at Camden Hills Regional High School to work with students (Grades 9-12) identified for special education for a variety of needs that may include cognitive, social or developmental disabilities. Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in providing positive behavior interventions and supports for students in both special and regular education settings.
This position may also work with individuals or small groups of special education students providing curriculum support, including the introduction of new learning pre-planned in consultation with the supervising teacher and with indirect teacher supervision. This position works 8:00am - 3:30pm, inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid lunch. This position is for 190 days per year.
- Collaborate with team members to support implementation of student IEPs
- Collect academic and functional data
- Support assigned students in general and/or special education settings, including the regular classroom, the self-contained classroom, and therapy classrooms
- Support students during lunch and during other nonacademic times
- Assist students with activities of daily living
- Understanding of behavioral interventions, trauma informed teaching, and special education practices.
- Effective communication and active listening.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Desire for ongoing professional development and improvement.
- Background check, including fingerprinting
- Maine Department of Education Ed Tech III authorization
- Preference will be given to those with Special Education Experience.
- Pay is $25.06 - $27.58 per hour based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
