Job Title
Middle/Secondary School Weightlifting Instructor
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or physical education
- IYCA Youth Fitness Specialist
- NSCA CSCS or NSCA-CPT with documented coursework in long‑term athletic development
- USAW (USA Weightlifting) Level 1 Coach to safely teach Olympic lifts to adolescents
- Safe Sport certification, current CPR/AED/First Aid
- Be responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization and administration of the training program, enforcing all training and safety rules, planning and conducting (in person) all weight training sessions, ensuring proper supervision at all times.
- Be responsible for preparing public information releases for the Principal or his/her designee regarding student progress, including academic progress.
- Support and enforce all school rules and expectations regarding co‑curricular eligibility and student conduct.
- Maintain an accurate participant roster at all times, ensuring that it is current and on file with the Principal or his/her designee.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are properly cleaned and secured upon completion of each session.
- Serve as a role model and advisor to the students in his/her program and to assist students, by advice or direction, with problem solving.
- Be punctual for scheduled events and remain in supervision of all students in the activity for the duration of scheduled activities, releasing students only to appropriate parent/guardian/authorized persons.
- Oversee the entire program and be an active participant in striving to improve the weight training program as well as the total education program of the school.
- Attend clinics/workshops pertaining to weight training to improve knowledge and safety.
- Submit an annual report to the Principal for his/her School Board Report.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
