Job Description

The Academic Coordinator/College and Career Advisor works collaboratively with the adult education team in planning, coordinating and assisting in all activities related to the adult education program, as well as academic and career advising.

Responsibilities
  • Student intake and career pathways plan development
  • Career & College advising based on student need
  • Academic assessment of HS Diploma and College Transition students
  • Program planning, design, assessment and evaluation that meet CCRS standards
  • Initial and on‑going assessment of students
  • Student academic advising and placement as appropriate
  • Teaching courses, workshops, and seminars aligned with targeted grant objectives and outcomes
  • Data collection and accurate record keeping
  • Plan and participate in Professional Development activities as outlined by the Director

Position Type: Full-time

Job Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Adult Education, or closely related field – required
    • Minimum of three years working with and advising adults and adolescents in transition services – required
    • Maine Teaching Certification (minimum Adult Education endorsement) - preferred
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching and advising adults and youth
    • Experience with program management and development
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Possesses group and community‑building skills
  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
