Special Education Social Emotional Teacher Grade K-6

RSU 16 is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Special Education Teacher (K–6) – SEL/Behavior Specialist to join our team. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a small, structured learning environment.

Starting Date:
Fall of  year

• Provide individualized instruction and implement evidence-based interventions for students with social, emotional and behavioral needs.
• Serve as the special education case manager duties including IEP development, implementation, collect and analyze student data to inform instructional and behavioral decision-making.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive and supportive classroom environment.
• Utilize trauma-informed instructional practices and social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to support students.
• Provide coaching, guidance and ongoing training to educational technicians to ensure consistent implementation of instructional and behavioral supports.
• Work collaboratively with BCBA, general education teachers, related service providers, administrators and families to support student achievement across settings.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to be certified in Safety Care
