Students from the surrounding towns of Baldwin, Cornish, Parsonsfield, and Porter attend Sacopee Valley. Sacopee Valley is conveniently located 30 minutes from North Conway, NH and 45 minutes from Portland. Recreational water activities at numerous local ponds and lakes are only minutes away. Sacopee Valley educates just under 1,000 students in grades Pre‑K – 12. With small classes and schools, teachers are able to know and inspire their students.

The Pre‑K/Early Elementary Special Education Teacher is a new position for a new self‑contained preschool/early‑elementary program at Sacopee Valley Elementary School in Hiram, Maine. The successful candidate will teach young learners with diverse developmental, functional, communication, and behavioral needs, providing individualized instruction and collaborating with related service providers, educational technicians, and families to support each child’s growth and development.

• Knowledge of early childhood development, behavioral supports, and functional life skills instruction.
• Experience developing and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons that support functional, social-emotional, communication, and early academic skills.
• Ability to create a structured classroom environment that supports student regulation, engagement, and independence.
• Ability to collect and utilize academic and behavioral data to drive instruction and daily living skills curriculum.
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with educational technicians
