Psychology Department Temporary Faculty Member

Job Description

In the Psychology Department, one or more courses may be offered to part-time, temporary faculty members during fall 2025 and/or spring 2026. Courses available could include PSY 208 (Personality), PSY 212 (Abnormal Psychology), PSY 223 (Psychology of Childhood), PSY 230 (Social Psychology), PSY 232 (Environmental Psychology), PSY 361 (Sensation & Perception), PSY 412 (Foundations of Clinical Psychology), PSY 424 (Abnormal Child Psychology), PSY 466 (Cognitive Neuroscience) and PSY 491 (Senior Seminar;

variable topics, including, but not limited to, cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology).

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: syllabus development aligned with departmental expectations, lesson planning, assignment design, grading, office hours, correspondence with students, use of an online learning management system and/or other instructional software, course coordination meetings with other faculty members, and required orientation and training.

Positions typically require teaching in person on campus.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Academic preparation adequate for the courses to be taught.

Preferred:

  • At least two years' college teaching experience.
  • PhD in Psychology or a closely related field.
