Functional Life Skills Teacher (Grades 6–8)

RSU 3 | Mount View Middle School

Are you passionate about helping students build independence, confidence, and real-world skills? RSU 3 is seeking a dedicated and compassionate special education teacher to join our Functional Life Skills Program at Mount View Middle School. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day by supporting students in developing the academic, social, and daily living skills they need to thrive.

• Experience in inclusive programming, positive behavior plans, and working with students with autism spectrum disorders
• Flexibility necessary to program for students with cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Ability to collect and utilize academic and behavioral data to drive instruction and daily living skills curriculum
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with educational technicians
• Current Safety Care Authorization (or can be trained by the district)
• Maintain strict confidentiality
• Current Maine Grade K-8 Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certification (282E)
• CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) or the ability to obtain upon employment

• Maine Certification:
  Teacher of Students with Disabilities (282E), Grades K–8
• Current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) or the ability to obtain
• Safety-Care Certification (or willingness to be trained by the district)
