Special Education Teacher - Livermore Falls, ME

This contract opportunity is tailored for passionate educators interested in working with 6th to 8th graders in a dedicated resource room environment. The assignment runs from August 28, 2026, to June 10, 2027, with a preference for full-time professionals, although part-time applicants will also be considered.

• Must possess a valid Maine 282 Endorsement (Special Education).
• Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field required; masters degree preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with middle school students, particularly those in special education programs.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
• High level of initiative, patience, and adaptability.

• Provide specialized instruction to small groups or individual students within the resource room.
• Design and execute lesson plans tailored to students unique learning needs, in line with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to monitor student progress and promote academic success.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Attend meetings, participate in professional development, and communicate regularly with parents and staff.
