Grade 1 Teacher Houlton Elementary School, 26-27 School Year

As a Grade 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels seen, heard, and challenged. You will implement curriculum aligned with Maine State Standards while tailoring your approach to meet the diverse social, emotional, and academic needs of our learners.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
• Use formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and differentiate instruction.
• Establish a safe, respectful, and “growth-mindset”oriented classroom environment.
• Work closely with the Grade 1 team, instructional coaches, and special education staff to support all learners.
• Maintain open, proactive partnerships with parents and guardians regarding student success and well-being.

Qualifications

• Required:
  
  Valid 020 Certification (Elementary/Intermediate Education).
• Prior experience teaching at the elementary level is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of early literacy (phonics/fluency) and numeracy development.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.

Proper Maine DOE certification and background check required for all positions
