Spruce Mountain School District is accepting applications for an Alternative Education Teacher who will serve the Middle and High School students. The successful candidate should be capable of teaching a wide variety of content and skills with various student abilities. To teach such a dynamic class full of students this candidate should be one of rigor, flexibility, creativity and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate should have experience in career counseling and employability opportunities for students. A background in Middle School and High School education is preferred, but not required.

• Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for a Department of Education experience working with students with social and emotional challenges preferred.
• Appropriate Maine Teaching certification
• Experience working with students at the middle and / or high school level is preferred, but not necessary
