Special Education Teacher (Resource 2 Days)

MSAD 6 is seeking a dynamic special education teacher to join the instructional staff at Steep Falls for the  school year. The successful candidate will regularly meet with students, staff, and parents in regards to pre-referral, referral, assessment, placement, and reintegration of special needs students; coordinate the identification, referral, evaluation, and placement of students into special education programs as required by the IEP process;

and provide direct instruction to students according to their IEPs. Applicants for this position must have degree(s) required in major area of study;
Maine Department of Education certification with a #282 endorsement; experience related to the instruction of students of similar age and in the subject area(s) to be assigned; demonstrated positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues; and evidence of a strong desire to work with school-age youth. Salaries and benefits may be found on the District website in the Agreement between the MSAD 6 Board of Directors and the Saco Valley Teachers Association.
