- Educational Technician II - Resource, Life Skills and Behavior Rooms
RSU #73 is looking for caring, compassionate, and patient Educational Technician II’s to join our special education programs working full-time with students with disabilities in grades 3-5 (elementary school), 6-8 (middle school), and 9-12 (high school). Students in our programs have a wide variety of academic and functional needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development and growth.
Successful candidates work with individuals or small groups providing curriculum support, perform short-term instruction with professional supervision including introduction of new learning preplanned with consultation from the supervising teacher, as well as maintain records of student progress with behavior and academics. Some students require personal care needs. The successful candidates will be highly motivated, organized and skilled at clear communication.
- Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as an education technician II through the Maine Department of Education.
- Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for a Department of Education.
- Experience working with students with challenging emotional / behavioral needs and at risk students with academic, social and behavioral concerns is preferred.
