Qualifications:
Maine certification for general elementary K-8 (020). Experience as a math interventionist/coach preferred. Maine Criminal History Records Check required.
The successful candidate will work with K–8 students and staff and is responsible for supporting student achievement in Mathematics, providing Tier II and III instruction in push-in or pull-out settings. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance. Coaching, modeling of lessons, and providing professional development experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Meet with students 1:1 or in small groups for intervention
- Coordinate benchmark system and data collection
- Weekly progress monitoring for Tier III students
- Identify and support the implementation of research-based math interventions for grades K-2 and 3-8.
- Be a member of the MTSS team
- Provide teachers with professional development; in-class consultation, assistance, feedback, and modeling through a structured and well-scheduled program in the classrooms K-5 and 6-8
- Instructional Support:
Serve as a resource to staff by sharing tools, strategies, and best practices to strengthen math instruction school wide - Collaborative Practice:
Partner closely with classroom teachers to identify student needs and co-develop targeted instructional strategies - Family Engagement:
Communicate regularly with families and provide practical strategies to support math learning at home - Assist in grading and completion of report cards and comments
- Attend weekly grade-level/PLC meetings
The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Diagnostic assessment - formal and informal methods and strategies.
- Data-informed instructional decision-making, design, and progress monitoring.
- Differentiated approaches to teaching and learning that meet targeted needs.
- Teamwork - being part of a culture of collaboration with other teachers and staff to collectively enhance and amplify effectiveness.
- Experience working at the elementary and middle level and shows a strong understanding of invention and numeracy development.
