MCSCS and MSES REACH After school Program - Enrichment Staff
MSAD 54 is seeking applicants for REACH After school Program Enrichment Staff at Margaret Chase Smith Community School (MCSCS) and Mill Stream Elementary School (MSES) for the school year
. Enrichment Staff work directly with students to facilitate engaging activities using lesson plans developed by REACH Instructional Staff. This position plays an essential role in creating a fun, supportive, and trauma-responsive after school experience while helping students build relationships, confidence, and new skills. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive impact in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging activities using lesson plans provided by REACH Instructional Staff.
- Read, understand, and implement lesson plans with fidelity while adapting to student needs.
- Build positive relationships with students through encouragement, engagement, and consistent support.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and trauma-responsive learning environment.
- Support student participation, cooperation, and positive behavior.
- Maintain classroom routines and assist with transitions.
- Follow Maine DHHS Child Care Licensing Rules, district policies, and REACH program expectations.
- Complete attendance and other required program documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- No teaching certification or college degree required.
- Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or youth development settings preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement instructional lesson plans.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to trauma-responsive and relationship-centered practices.
- Selected applicants must successfully complete the Maine DHHS fingerprinting process and the Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC).
- Must be available Monday-Thursday during the school year.
- Program hours are approximately 2:15-5:15 p.m.
- Rate of pay: $17.37 per hour.
- All REACH staff are eligible to participate in Maine's Early Childhood Educator Supplemental Wage Program through MRTQ. Depending on education and Career Lattice level, staff may qualify for an additional $240, $360, or $540 per month.
