Saint Joseph's College of Maine is seeking a dynamic individual for the part-time, 20 hours per week position of GFSTM Noyce Project Assistant!

POSITION

DESCRIPTION:

The GFSTM Noyce Project Assistant will be under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator. The responsibilities will include coordinating scholar activities and cohort building, logistics and purchasing support for events, communication and social media. In addition, the project assistant will assist with submission of stipend and reimbursement requests, as well as data collection required for project reporting. Additional responsibilities may be assigned depending on interest and qualifications.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
:

Program Administration

  • Coordinate project activities including the Teaching Experience Short Course and Career Panels

  • Oversee communication about the GFSTM Noyce project including updates to the website and social media

  • Organize and maintain files and records of data related to Noyce scholars and graduates

  • Assist with budget oversight including administration of stipends, reimbursement requests, and monthly reconciliation

Principal Investigator Support

  • Provide scheduling support, calendar management support, and meeting agenda preparation

  • Plan, organize, and co-facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Data Entry

  • Manage, scan, archive, and assist with analysis of a variety of program data and documents

  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot accurate budget spreadsheets

  • Work with GFSTM PI to prepare project reports

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • A valid driver’s license and ability to successfully pass a background check is required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to workboth independently, collaboratively, and on multiple teams, simultaneously

  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, equity, and fairness in all aspects of the work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS degree or Secondary Teaching Credential in STEM field

  • 2 years administrative experience / grant administration

  • Experience in higher education

  • Prior experience working with secondary STEM teachers

About GFSTM: This is a temporary part-time position funded through the NSF-sponsored Growing Future STEM Teachers in Maine (GFSTM) project. Through full-tuition scholarships, GFSTM seeks to recruit and prepare future science and math teachers, and provide continued support as they enter the classroom in high-need school districts. GFSTM, a partnership between Saint Joseph’s College and Southern Maine Community College, is committed to growing the pool of highly qualified secondary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) teachers in Maine by creating and supporting multiple pathways into the profession and helping districts “growtheirown.”
