The RoleNew DHC is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation of propulsion, auxiliary, and mechanical systems aboard large vessels operating along the coast of Maine. This role is suited to a hands‑on professional who values machinery reliability, preventative maintenance, and operational consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and maintain main propulsion and auxiliary machinery
- Conduct routine machinery rounds and inspections
- Monitor temperatures, pressures, and fluid levels during operations
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with company maintenance programs
- Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance records
- Ensure machinery spaces are safe, clean, and operational
- Communicate machinery status, limitations, and maintenance needs to the Captain
- Maintain engineering tools, spare parts, and consumables onboard
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a comparable marine engineering role
- Valid USCG medical certificate
- Valid TWIC
- Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally
