Location: North Berwick
Manufacturing Engineering (P2) – North Berwick Repair Operations
Pratt & Whitney’s Aftermarket Organization (AMO) at North Berwick Aero Systems (NBAS), Maine offers a role focused on repair processes for military and commercial hardware. This position supports day‑to‑day operations, including inspection, machining, thermal spray, assembly, and more, while collaborating with quality, operations, and engineering groups in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Engineering to support a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Interpret technical data from engine manuals and translate requirements into manufacturing work instructions.
- Support manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques used to restore part condition and return product to service.
- Apply Lean principles and continuous‑improvement tools to solve problems, improve quality, and increase process efficiency.
- Document quality records and ensure compliance with company policies, customer contracts, and aerospace industry standards.
- Assist with manufacturing processes such as CNC programming, tool application and design, CMM inspection, and measurement techniques.
- Project management and collaboration across Quality, Operations, and Engineering.
- Interpretation of technical data and implementation of manufacturing work instructions.
- Manufacturing processes, methods, and techniques used to restore part condition.
- Lean principles, continuous‑improvement tools, and critical thinking for problem resolution.
- Documentation of quality records and compliance with industry standards.
- Use of CAD/CAM (Siemens NX), MES (Solumina), ERP (SAP), and MS Office Suite.
- Advanced degree with 1+ year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment,
* or* Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, engine manuals, and blueprints.
- Experience with Siemens NX or equivalent CAD/CAM programs.
- Experience with Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite products.
- Experience and knowledge of machining and assembly processes, including tool application and measurement methods.
- NC/CNC programming experience; familiarity with G&M codes and GD&T symbols.
- Proficiency with problem‑solving and continuous‑improvement tools such as Process Certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and Six Sigma.
- Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Aerospace or aviation industry experience.
- Component repair experience in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, tool application, and measurement methods.
Salary range: $68,900
USD – $131,100
USD (good faith estimate). Benefits are dependent on the business unit and the applicable collective‑bargaining agreement.
