Location: Orono
Job Responsibilities
- Operate additive manufacturing equipment to produce novel prototypes for a wide variety of end-users.
- Develop laboratory operations procedures and support 3D printing laboratory operations team.
- Assemble, operate, and maintain 3D printers.
- Train students on the use of printers and troubleshoot problems.
Typical hiring salary for this soft-money funded position is up to $80,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications- Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field.
- Proven experience in advanced manufacturing for 1-3 years.
- Preferred:
- Proficiency in CNC programming software for both 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
- Experience with large scale 3D print slicing and design for additive manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in cross-disciplinary research teams.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- US Person.
