Research Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing Operations

Job Responsibilities

• Operate additive manufacturing equipment to produce novel prototypes for a wide variety of end-users.
• Develop laboratory operations procedures and support 3D printing laboratory operations team.
• Assemble, operate, and maintain 3D printers.
• Train students on the use of printers and troubleshoot problems.

Typical hiring salary for this soft-money funded position is up to $80,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

• Required:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • Proven experience in advanced manufacturing for 1-3 years.
• Preferred:
  • Proficiency in CNC programming software for both 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
  • Experience with large scale 3D print slicing and design for additive manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in cross-disciplinary research teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • US Person.
