Machine Project Engineer in VA Process

WSP is expanding and investing in the VA process business. Water issues are part of all major community projects today and in the future, these will only become more relevant. Challenges that we at WSP see that we will have an important advisory role in solving together with our customers. WSP’s water section with 180 employees offers a complete range of consulting services to deliver concrete and technical solutions that make a difference from both ecological and social sustainability aspects as well as with good total economics in focus.

Right now, we have many exciting projects underway within VA facilities and therefore need to expand our team with a machine project engineer in VA Process!

VA Process

Within VA Process, we currently have around 25 employees and work with municipal water and sewage treatment plants, biogas plants, and industrial water treatment plants. We deliver services throughout the entire chain from early stages with idea and preliminary studies, process investigations to process design, project engineering, request documents, start-ups, and operational issues to customers throughout Sweden.

About the role

As a machine project engineer within VA process plants, with a focus on pipe and process technology, you will become an important part of our continued effort to strengthen and develop our project activities. You work on both smaller and larger projects together with colleagues from different disciplines, where you contribute to technical design and project engineering support.

For those with more experience, there is an opportunity to take on a more senior role, for example as a technical manager. Then you work more independently with customer contact, budget and progress follow-up as well as problem solving within your technical area. You can also support and guide project engineers, ensure quality deliveries and contribute to effective coordination between disciplines.

We also offer the opportunity to develop through our international network, where you can collaborate with colleagues in other countries and participate in global knowledge exchanges.

We are primarily looking for employees for our offices in Sundsvall, Umeå, Malmö, Gothenburg, or Stockholm. However, your competence is more important than your place of residence, so we welcome applications from all over the country.

Your profile

We are happy to shape the role according to your experience, where we believe that you have at least 2 years of experience in machine project engineering within VA plants or the process industry, as well as an academic degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field. You have good skills in AutoCAD, preferably with experience in Plant 3D.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• hydraulic calculations
• project coordination or project management
• preparation of specific constructions within process-related projects

We especially value if you are proactive, can take responsibility for technical development within your assignments and thrive in a role where you both lead and collaborate.

You have a technical depth combined with a strong team spirit and good communication skills. You want to be part of shaping the future VA solutions together with committed colleagues and customers. To succeed in the role, you are responsible, solution-oriented, and motivated by working in an environment where knowledge sharing and collaboration are at the center.

You are proficient in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
