The microseismic team at Baker Hughes provides comprehensive microseismic monitoring solutions to the industry worldwide. It operates in the energy transition sector and targets markets such as geothermal, oil and gas, mining, and civil engineering.
Team up with the best
As an R&D Engineer (F/H), you will join the microseismic research group to work on the design and testing of new microseismic products, mainly based on algorithms and software.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and evolving existing microseismic processing and interpretation products to improve functionalities and/or reduce costs.
- Developing and/or supervising the engineering of microseismic processing or interpretation product prototypes.
- Creating microseismic design projects and technical sheets.
- Helping with technical market analysis to evaluate the technical competitiveness of products.
- Performing microseismic analyses, identifying problems, and leading the formulation of new and innovative methods to solve problems.
- Participating and contributing to microseismic R&D team meetings to discuss product features and develop new ideas.
Fuel your passion
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
- Hold a Master 2 and/or a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, information technology, signal and image processing and analysis, geophysics, or a similar technical field.
- Demonstrate practical experience in innovative processing and coding algorithms.
- Have experience in the development of scientific software, including the ability to program in Python, Matlab, or C++.
- Have computer and algorithmic knowledge, as well as experience implementing processing approaches in demanding and high-performance environments (reliable real-time alert systems).
- Possess successful experience in the industry, particularly in seismology/passive seismic data processing, which is a plus.
- Have excellent communication skills and speak fluent English.
