Requirements Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation
  • 4+ years of experience in general contractor and vendor management, including requests for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking tied to construction and project delivery
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline plus 5+ years of relevant controls experience, or 10+ years of relevant controls experience in place of a degree
  • Preferred: masters degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or a related field
  • Preferred: experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA systems, application-specific controllers, software, and networks
  • Preferred: familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS
  • Preferred: solid understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical drawings, and standard operating procedures
  • Preferred: ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and complex situations
  • Preferred: experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure
  • Preferred:
    Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Responsibilities
  • We train and support internal customers and stakeholders through the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS systems
  • We provide technical support to operations throughout the data center lifecycle
  • We review quarterly maintenance results and action items for BMS and EPMS and drive them to resolution
  • We develop project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and level-of-effort estimates for BMS and EPMS initiatives requested by customers and stakeholders
  • We manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution for BMS and EPMS improvement projects in our data centers
  • We support procurement activities, including RFQs, RFPs, responses to RFIs, vendor proposal reviews, and purchase order issuance
  • We participate in our global on-call rotation to deliver immediate technical support for in-service data centers
  • We attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and regularly report status to Controls and stakeholder management
  • We support commissioning activities for Controls projects in our data centers
  • We review, implement, troubleshoot, and refine control sequences of operation and provide feedback to the design team
  • We develop and adjust controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces
  • We manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations
  • We oversee the financial management of BMS and EPMS service contracts
  • We visit assigned in-operation data centers locally to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance with scope, design, sequences of operation, and applicable local codes
