The North Berwick Repair Operations site has a unique opportunity for a dual-role Engineer to support our Alternate Work Week shift operations. This person in this role will sharpen and leverage skills in both Quality & Manufacturing Engineering and have tremendous career opportunities for professional development and career growth. As a key member of the weekend support team, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality and regulatory standards while working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to mentoring and developing future aerospace leaders.
This role provides outstanding opportunities for technical growth, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term career advancement within Pratt & Whitney. This position reports directly to the site’s Quality Manager and supports our Alternate Work Week schedule. Typical working hours are 6:00AM – 6:30PM, Friday through Sunday. Comprehensive training is available and may be required on first shift for up to six months to ensure you are fully prepared for success.
Flexibility may be required to support other shifts, training needs, or workflow demands, including overtime.
- Leading teams that investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
- Perform product, process and work instruction reviews.
- Review and approve FAI’s, Service Masters, Work Instructions Interface with various Engineering groups and Customer Support to resolve technical/quality issues.
- Lead and participate in various teams in support of the unit’s ACE goals.
- Provide technical guidance and training to inspectors.
- Interface with off-shift production supervision to help prevent quality work stops QN creation/documentation through SAP Interface with regulatory agencies, customers, and external vendors to resolve technical/ quality issues.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, ISO
9001 Quality Stamp control Variation control and closure Pratt & Whitney's North Berwick, Maine facility is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. - Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
- Advanced degree and 3 years of experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations experience in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive or other heavily regulated industry;
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience;
- Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
- We will also consider High School Diploma or specialized Technical or Military training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
- University degree ideally in Engineering.
