You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney's North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC), located in Southern Maine, is home to a highly collaborative engineering community co-located with Pratt & Whitney's largest manufacturing facility. NBEC supports engineering activities across the full gas-turbine engine—including the Fan, Low Pressure Compressor, High Pressure Compressor, Low Pressure Turbine and High Pressure Turbine, for both commercial and military product lines.

This unique co-location enables exceptional hands-on collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and operations teams. NBEC engineers contribute across a wide variety of disciplines, including design, structures, project engineering, durability, aero/thermal, repair development, and engineering support to operations.

As a Engineering Development Program Engineer I at Pratt & Whitney, you will......

  • Provide technical support across development, production, and aftermarket programs.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with technical investigations, testing support, production engineering activities, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Execute Engineering Standard Work and contribute to engineering reviews.
What You Will Learn
  • Candidates hired will begin their first 2.5 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP). This program consists of three rotations that are 12 months - 9 months - 9 months in duration and typically occur in three distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations.

    This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.
  • Develop breadth and depth through three structured rotations across different engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in technical training such as gas-turbine fundamentals, hands-on engine learning, and mentorship courses.
  • Build your professional network through North Berwick Engine Center Lunch 'n Learns, social events, Engineering Development program (EDP)
    -wide meetings, and interactions with engineering leaders.
  • Opportunities for exposure to both commercial and military product lines and experience the full lifecycle of engine hardware—from concept to production to sustainment.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, or related Science, Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field obtained by start date.
  • Experience with one or more Microsoft Office tools
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
