Accounting Specialist
Twin Rivers Paper Company, headquartered in Madawaska, Maine, is an integrated specialty paper manufacturer producing 400,000 tons of paper per year for the packaging, publishing, label, and technical sectors. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for the fiduciary responsibilities of finance, monthly closing and reporting for the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accounting requirements are completely accurate and on time
- Documents and substantiate financial transactions by entering account information
- Analyzing operational and financial data, investigating variances, identifying business drivers, and evaluating their impact on planned objectives
- Preparing meaningful variance analysis commentary for management
- Consolidating cost reduction and other continuous improvement activities
- Providing assistance in reporting against performance targets in incentive programs
- Assisting with the recommendation, development, and implementation of process improvements in support of the operating agenda
Requirements:
- BA in Accounting or Finance
- Strong skill in the areas of analysis, problem-solving, organization, multi-tasking, prioritization, communication, and relationship building
- Ability to think strategically in a constantly changing business environment and market
- Ability to operate with high regard to integrity, trust, and confidentiality
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
Working Conditions:
The Accounting Specialist spends 100% of the time in an office environment entering and analyzing data, preparing and reviewing reports, working with internal departments and external systems support, and attending meetings.
