Staff Accountant

Location: Orono

The Town is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of a thriving municipality while enjoying an outstanding work-life balance.

The Finance Department manages all aspects of the Town's financial operations, including payroll, budget development, investments, financial reporting, and auditing, overseeing an annual operating budget of approximately $12.2 million.

As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include performing and maintaining accurate account reconciliations, ensuring financial records are complete and reliable, assisting with month-end and year-end processes, preparing financial reports, and supporting the Town's overall accounting and financial management functions.

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, ora related field.

Several years of municipal finance or governmental accounting experience.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with TRIO software is preferred.
