Sustainability Manager
We are seeking an energetic, results-oriented professional to work within the Sustainability Europe Team as Sustainability Manager. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert on sustainability at Schroders, developing a deep understanding of how we approach this complex and multi-faceted topic and how to articulate our capabilities to clients. The individual will contribute to the European sustainability strategy and the coordination of projects, bring our sustainability expertise to clients and support European distribution teams, in partnership with other functions of the firm.
We are looking for someone with experience in the field of sustainability and client facing roles, coordinating multiple projects and deep dive into sustainability tools and their implementation for the benefit of our clients.

The candidate will be part of European Distribution and will work closely with the Sustainability team in particular.
The Sustainable Investment team is Schroders dedicated sustainability experts who are primarily responsible for systematically monitoring ESG issues and sustainability dedicated products for the firm. Operating along sector and theme lines our Sustainable Investment Analysts gain a deep understanding of relevant material ESG issues and work with our research analysts and portfolio managers around the business to incorporate this work in their idea generation, analysis and forecasts.
The sustainability specialists work with investment teams rather than operating in a silo, which facilitates regular dialogue with our analysts and investors. Over time to support our investors, the Sustainable Investment team has developed a number of proprietary investment-driven tools. Our sustainability specialists also engage on key ESG issues directly with companies. As a group, regular production of thematic research reports and thought leadership is another key function.
The Europe Sustainability Team is responsible for supporting our clients in the region in their own sustainability journey, being an active contributor to the industry sustainability development, empowering and supporting colleagues in client group and investment on all sustainability matters, and contributing to the firmwide sustainability strategy to ensure future relevance with clients.
What you'll do:
- Contribute to coordinating projects related to the European sustainability distribution strategy, partnering with all group functions
- Get a deep understanding of Schroders sustainability tools and how to leverage them for the benefit of our clients, notably through portfolio analysis and client facing interactions
- Directly interact with clients in the Nordics and more broadly across Europe
- Support European distribution colleagues in producing high quality and effectively responses to specific client requirements, RFPs, and building client facing presentations
- Support our investment colleagues by understanding and sharing client and product trends in EMEA, to help support the development of a suite of sustainability products
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:
- Prior experience of working within asset management industry
- Knowledge and understanding of sustainable investing
- Ability to work with numerous internal stakeholders across the business
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written and presentation skills
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and Power Point
- Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help:
- Understanding of financial markets
- CFA ESG qualification (or equivalent) would be a plus
- Language skills in European local language(s) would also be a plus
