The Town of Bar Harbor is seeking a Sustainable Economic Development Manager to serve as a strategic and analytical resource within the Planning Department. The focus is on managing seasonal economic activity, infrastructure demand, and service delivery in a small community with a limited year‑round population. The role strengthens decision‑making by linking economic activity, infrastructure capacity, and municipal finance, supporting policy development, long‑term planning, and capital investment decisions across multiple departments.
As the gateway community to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor experiences significant seasonal variation. The position works closely with Planning and Code Enforcement, Public Works, Finance, and engages with boards, committees, regional partners, and external agencies.
Desired Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
Master’s preferred - 5‑years professional experience in planning, economic development, or related analytical work (10 years preferred)
