Summary

The Emergency Department Technician II role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the physician/advanced practice practitioner, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education:

    EMT or CNA training required.
  • License/

    Certifications:

    Current EMT - Basic license or CNA Certification required. Current BLS Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • Experience:

    One year of experience in an acute care experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of Emergency Department Technician role.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements

    Required:

  • Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:
    Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
