Location: Damariscotta

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant with 2+ years of experience in LTC/skilled/geriatric care for a 13-week travel contract in Damariscotta, ME, floating between two facilities.

Job Details

• Long-term care and skilled nursing setting serving elderly residents and short-stay skilled rehab patients,

• Position floats between two facilities in Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor within a 25-mile radius,

• Cove's Edge has 46 beds;
St. Andrews Village has 42 beds,

• Patient population includes elderly long-term care residents and skilled rehab short-stay residents with conditions such as CHF, COPD, arthritis, falls/fractures, neurological conditions, and general weakness,

• Therapy patient ratio of 1:8,

• EMR systems include Optima and Point Click Care ,

• Day shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM,

• Weekend coverage on an as-needed basis,

• No on-call requirements,

Job Requirements

• Active PTA license (license required if applicable),

• Current CPR/BLS certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of experience in skilled nursing, LTC, or geriatric care settings,

• Experience with Optima and/or Point Click Care  EMR preferred,

• Driver's license required for consideration,

• 2 professional references required for consideration,

• SSN and DOB required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide therapy services to both long-term care residents and short-stay skilled rehab patients across two facilities,

• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and are subject to a different pay rate,

• Local candidates are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions,

• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; khakis and a collared shirt are also permitted,

• Jeans, shorts, hoodies, sweatpants, and clothing with logos or pictures are not permitted,

• Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this position,

• Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during the consideration process,
