Central Maine Healthcare – Speech Therapist

Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people in central, western and midcoast Maine.
Rumford Hospital Therapy Services team welcomes an experienced Speech Therapist.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose speech, language, swallowing disorders or delays.
  • Provide intervention, consultations, and treatment to patients of all ages.
  • Follow ASHA principles and provide care to inpatient adult and geriatric, outpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team and coordinate treatment goals.
  • Maintain training and competency per regulatory requirements (JCAHO, state and federal regulations).
  • Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to assistants, aides, etc.
Skills and Attributes for Success
  • Flexibility, organization and the ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Basic computer skills and effective communication in English.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Maine Licensure in Speech Pathology (current).
  • Clinical Competence Certificate through ASHA (eligible or obtained).
  • BCLS certification (current).
