Medical Advisor For Rare Tumors

We are seeking a highly strategic and scientifically driven Medical Advisor for Rare Tumors to lead the medical launch readiness of our innovative rare tumor portfolio in Korea. This role is critical in driving medical launch readiness, bridging the gap between clinical development and patient access. You will lead scientific engagement with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs), manage Advisory Board Meetings (ABM) and spearhead real-world evidence (RWE) generation, including Risk Management Plan (RMP) protocols development.

You will also provide strategic guidance to the field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to ensure the successful execution of medical strategies. Regular domestic travel is required to engage with external stakeholders. This position reports to Therapeutic Area Lead, Oncology, in Korea.

Your Role:

  • Medical Strategy & Launch Excellence:
  • Lead Launch Readiness:
    Develop and execute integrated medical launch plans for rare tumor assets to ensure market readiness.
  • MSL Strategic Alignment:
    Provide strategic guidance to MSL, ensuring field activities are perfectly aligned with the overall medical strategy in rare tumors.
  • Insight Generation:
    Capture and analyze medical insights from the field through collaboration with MSL to shape medical strategies and identify barriers to patient access to rare diseases.
  • Cross-functional Leadership:
    Serve as an extended member of the launch team, providing medical leadership for commercial, market access, and regulatory affairs

    Education:

    Lead scientific training for internal teams and external stakeholders within the local Therapeutic Area (TA).
  • Content Review:
    Develop and medically validate promotional and educational materials to ensure scientific integrity.

2. Scientific Engagement & KTL Management:

  • Strategic Partnership:
    Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with top-tier KTLs and relevant academic societies to elevate the scientific profile of the portfolio.
  • Advisory Board Management:
    Design and facilitate high-level ABMs to gather expert perspectives on the clinical data and treatment landscapes.
  • Scientific Communication:
    Deliver high-quality scientific presentations and lead medical education programs for healthcare professionals (HCPs)

3. Evidence Generation & RMP Operations:

  • RWE & Data Generation:
    Identify data gaps and lead local evidence generation strategies, including investigator-sponsored studies (ISS) and retrospective studies.
  • Publication Management:
    Lead local publication process, publication dissemination and alignment with local, regional and global publication plan
  • RMP & Protocol Development:
    Lead the development of Medical-led RMP (Risk Management Plan) protocols and its frameworks to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Scientific Accuracy and Compliance:
    Ensure all medical and promotional materials meet the highest clinical standards and GxP requirements.

Who You Are:

EDUCATION:

  • Advanced scientific degrees (e.g., MSc, PharmD, PhD, DO, MD) required, preferably in scientific field of relevance to position
  • Scientific and / or clinical training in area relevant to position is strongly preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous MSL, Medical Advisor or related pharmaceutical experience required
  • Prior experience in Oncology or Rare tumor or Rare disease must have.
  • Proven track record in Product Launch and KTL engagement.
  • Experience in clinical trial design or protocol development (RMP/RWE) is a significant plus.

OTHER

SKILLS:

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced "launch" environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for "peer-to-peer" scientific dialogue.
  • Fluency in English and Korean (written and verbal).
